Physical Education
Overview
Children take part in two PE lessons each week, one indoor and one outdoor PE. Over the course of the year pupils experience lessons in multi-skills and agility, games, gymnastics, athletics and dance. The pupils are expected to master basic movements including running, jumping, throwing and catching, as well as developing balance, agility and co-ordination. The lessons lead on to participate in team games, developing simple tactics for attacking and defending. The children perform dances using simple movement patterns.
Year R
Children have the opportunity to engage in physical activities throughout the day and there are always outdoor activities available during child initiated play.
From Spring term 1 children will take part in discreet PE lessons in the hall.
